I School Uniform

Seeing kids near the local school, well they just look so scruffy!

Boys - scuffed shoes, shirt tails hanging out, ties short and hanging loose around the neck.

Girls - skirts that look more like wide belts that look like they should be on a street corner.

Am I turning into a grumpy old woman or just jealous I could never get away with that, hmmm....

Their are the kids that are in school now which is a different time to when you were a kid
Just like when you were a kid was a different time to when I was a kid

It is different times, I remeber the same complaint by some during my school days and our attire. But honestly in many kids, especially today, it's a great indicator of their motivation, or their willingness to follow a trend. We should allow some expressions and tastes in individuality, but we should also teach what is professial and socially respectful. Not always an easy thing. But without trying we loose the values that keep society and professionalism at its best.
