I Witnessed Corporal Punishment At School

One Monday morning at my junior school a boy in my class was sent out of choir practice for some kind of misbehaviour. As the boy walked out of the hall the teacher, who had just been appointed acting headmaster, said to the rest of the school "You can guess what he's going to get, and you'll be right." About 10 minutes into the next lesson the boy appeared, crying uncontrollably. The rest of the class, and our form teacher, were shocked. The boy must have received a severe caning.
