I Think Social Media Does More Harm Than Good

I walked past a girl who appeared 12-13 saying she needs a bigger butt and boobs because her boyfriend can’t handle her smallness. Your a freaking baby still!! Influencers on social media create this idealism of flat stomach, bigg butt, clear face, and young girls are stressing themselves because they don’t look like these models on instagram. Same with guys, the hair, the muscles, teeth whatever.

I understand everyone has flaws that they’d like to fix or just change something because they want to which I respect... your body, your choice.

I really could cry when I hear things like this. Young people programmed almost from day one to believe they aren’t good enough. Then we expect them to go out and make the world a better place when they’re damaged themselves.

@LyricalOne That truly is a sad but true statement. Our youth feel a need to be accepted and don't know how to achieve something that is a void in their life.

It's all filter, photoshop, and good lighting. All of it's fake!

Internet has made a worse world, but there's no immediate going back.

Social media is a huge problem for young women. In recent years the rates of depression, anxiety and slef harm have gone up dramaticly, especially in younger women and it's due to social media. It's terrible really.
Judemaixcx · 22-25, F
@Canadian1996 exactly. The influencers on social media don’t even acknowledge that as often

You're spot on. It's one thing to look at yourself and judge , but when you're trying to satisfy others, and how they see you, and in most cases , strangers who don't give a fig about You? It's carrying it too far .

She should stop trying to impress her BF , she is much too young to worry about those things, she will grow and blossom in the next few years and look amazing...if he can't wait then kick him to the kerb.

True, it’s pathetic to see this so often, the media in general thrives on insecurity and if people aren’t educated on it’s downsides soon our society is gonna be even more doomed

Trying to impress others never works. If they can't accept you for being who you are, they're not worth having around.

@SuperA exactly!

Girls who are willing to do anything, including surgery, to make themselves over for their boyfriend's fantasies are one of the saddest sights on earth.

She's probably going to lose her virginity in like year too.

That's why this is my only social media.
