I Am Spiritual But Not Religious

I wonder if bacteria and other single-celled organisms exist spiritually. It may sound stupid, but technically human beings and other animals are made up of cells (we're multicellular for a reason), so maybe there's a spiritual equivalent? Then again, I've always heard of "spiritual parasites" both astrally and etherically, so there's probably minor spiritual entities equivalent to bacteria and viruses. Who knows 馃槃馃し

Well animism is considered one of the oldest forms of religion though it is not inherently primitive like some racists say, it can be very complex and exists in the modern day like in Shintoism. Animism says that nature has a soul. Rivers, trees, forests, animals, plants, water... all has it's own soul. Ancient people could not see bacteria so they didn't ascribe any spiritual aspect to it but taking what we know of their existence from modern science and adding an animist perspective I think it's quite possible bacteria and viruses do have some sort of spiritual essence. If you are a polytheist like me you may think the spiritual essence of the viruses and bacteria are given to them by or aspects of a God of plague like Apollo to the Greeks.

My 2 cents on spiritual parasites: maybe most virus and bacterial souls on a spiritual level act as spiritual parasites. So physically they are a virus but spiritually it acts as a minor entity perhaps bring pain, sickness, disease etc.
