I Am Hopeless

I've been working harder and felt like I was grasping more concepts from classes than before yet my marks are still around the same and there is no improvement whatsoever. I'm just really distraught over it. Kinda feel like giving up. I just had expectations way too high for myself but to not have any improvement at all is just soul-crushing.

Feel like giving up.

I would get a tutor. And look up smart ways to study. And talk to the teachers and get their advice.

@Carazaa Can't afford to find a tutor, I also already go through the material with my teacher every time before a quiz

@Colourflame call the school psychologist in the morning, and schedule an appointment for psycho-Educational Assessment. He will assess for any learning problems and you could qualify for free tutoring and longer tests and accommodations.

@Carazaa One of the main problems I have is confidence issue. I self doubt a lot and have almost zero confidence in whatever i do.

OK that is a normal problem too. You can get confident. The school psychologist will tell you your strengths after assessing you! Also get the book "Discover what you're Best at" Which is the greatest book after the Bible. Its in all bookstores and comes out with a new addition every year. It is also assessing your best occupations for your strengths, and will let you know what professions you are a natural for. Every profession in the world is in that book.

If you have test anxiety, you can do 3 things.

1. Ask the doctor for a stage fright pill to take when taking tests. (its a blood pressure medication that prevents anxiety while doing something stressful)

2. meditate the day before a stressful event. Go through it in your head and talk to yourself like you are calm and perfect, and when taking the test or speech don't think and you will naturally go on automatic and perform perfect. I did meditation when I ski raced in Tahoe, and its great for performance anxiety.

3. Contact a EMDR therapist and ask to work on performance anxiety and test taking and low self esteem.
