@Quizzical that is a sad truth.. I got so emotionally invested in the first game, as it co-incided with a relationship I was trying to foster at the time... now the game seems to have lost its humanity, being just another brainless fungus controlled zombie....

From what I can tell, you don't get to play the characters from the first one because one of them is killed, and the other one you are hunting down.

And it's the character that YOU are playing that committed the murder.
