Yes, that is a very serious problem. The best solution is probably to make them play without helmets. They would be far, far, far, far more careful when tackling somebody. No more helmet on helmet or helmet on ribs charges.
@Alene1: Otherwise, I think, sooner or later a player will die on the field. And then the NFL has a MAJOR problem. Just imagine the media coverage and the lawsuits to follow.
@Mugin16: I'm surprised one hasn't already but there have still been deaths caused by injury from the game which should be equal but isn't for some reason. I agree with you I think it would be far less dangerous if they didn't wear helmets and padding on their upper body,
