I Had An Accident In School

@WetPeter Yes, I think generally speaking teachers are more willing to let kids go now. Though sometimes for disciplinary or safety reasons teachers are still somewhat reluctant to let students out of class. I think that's more of an issue at older grades though.

Wet pants were not rare at my school either. I wet my pants a lot outside of school too as well as a few times at recess because I didn't want to miss out on play time.

@wetpants I think elementary schools are a lot different now. There was a lot more discipline when I went to school. You didn't dare put up your hand to ask for permission to go to the bathroom unless you really had to go. And sometimes permission was denied. I recall teachers telling students that they could wait for five or ten minutes until class ended. I remember several incidents where students wet themselves in school, from first grade through middle school. It became much less common as kids got older. I had two accidents in fifth grade and another in sixth grade.

@WetPeter Yeah, I definitely remember teachers telling kids to wait if you asked too near the beginning or end of class. "You wait for the bell." The problem was that if you were asking at that point you probably HAD been trying to wait for the end of class but were too desperate and felt you had to ask. Being told no was rough. And 6th grade was a tough age to have accident for sure.
