I Love Leotards
I think I am addicted to leotards... in the past three months I have been fortunate to have found five leotards (dance, figure skating, and gymnastics) at thrift stores.
I bought my first one a couple months ago, a light blue figure skating dress with a knee length skirt... and then in the next month I found another with a velvet bodice and the usual short, light mesh skirt found on skating leotards. Both had low necklines and full length sleeves. (The velvet one had a high front neckline but low back, though both were wide across the shoulders.)
Which have been followed by a purple skate leotard, with a high collar that closes at the back of the neck but has a open back- another long sleeved leotard. Along with that I bought at the same time a gymnastics leotard- the metallic-looking type, that looks like a tank-top, no sleeves.
And just today I purchased a long dark blue dance dress, with spaghetti straps- the skirt is flowy material and extends to about mid thigh. (EDIT: It's this style: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-VELVET-LYCRA-PRINCESS-SEAM-LONG-DANCE-DRESS-CH-ADLT/390239969143) It's kind of big for me- it's an XL, and I am more of a M- to L-size body, but it's not too big, fortunately. I had to go to work immediately after I purchased it, though, so I only tried it on in my car. (of course I had to!) But soon... I am pretty sure it'll be not too bad on me once I'm freely standing. (EDIT: and it IS wonderful! I'm really happy with my purchase!)
And I think the enabler for this whole leotard addiction is that they are so cheap at thrift stores! Each of these leotards have been under $10, so it's been perfect for my budget... I just gotta be careful I don't accidentally overspend... And these are easy to hide; I'm waiting to move out and get my own place to start collecting other types of dresses- that's going to be fun! Proper dresses are so cool to wear... I sometimes wish I was female (or could at-will shape-change into a female body), but I am happy in the male body I am in.
