I've Been In Love And Betrayed

My first marriage, and I married very young (lesson learned).... I was on vacation with the husband for our two year anniversary, seven months pregnant, and he drops a bombshell: "I just don't want to be a husband, or a father, I don't even want to be an adult." (In his 20s) So he left me. Halfway across the country. Took the car I had just bought. And left. Abandoned, pregnant and scared. And now stranded in a state I had no intention of living in.

Fast forward to today and my daughter is 12 years old, I chose to place her with an adoptive family. She is very well taken care of. We talk often though, and she understands (age appropriately) who I am to her and why I made the choice I did. Life is good for us both at this point, after many trials. So I harbor no resentment. As I said earlier, it was certainly a lesson learned.
