I Have Ibs

I have IBS, but it's IBS-C (a.k.a. constipation and cramps). It's not fun. But I've dealt with it for most of my life so I know little else. It's not something I ever really talk about much, but just interested if other people have similar issues.

That would be me. I have had the same issues since childhood. I was the first born and had inherited from my father whom had the same problems.

Man, no one seems to have it in my family, so I don't know where I got it from.
My grandmother on my ad it. So I kind of got the double whammy. No one else in my family suffers from it.

@allsfinebime2: I only got actually diagnosed with it recently. I was constipated since I was a kid and my parents always knew something was amiss, but never really got an official word on it until not too long ago.
So are you on the standard therapy of Miralax and fiber?
SW-User
@allsfinebime2: Yeah pretty much. It helps sometimes, othertimes it doesn't seem to have much of an effect.
@TristanT96: I have been on that therapy for years. And you are correct with your observation that this therapy does not always work. I was put on a trial basis on Linzess. But that proved to be to strong for me. I could not stop after taking it.

@allsfinebime2: Hmm. I've herad of that one, but haven't tried much beyond the standard therapy. It seems like that would probably be too strong for me too.
@TristanT96: I share your frustrations. I have had 4 GI doctors in the last 20 some years. My newest GI doctor is actually a surgeon. And he has me starting on a new regimen in April. I will have to let you know how this goes for me.

@allsfinebime2: Yeah I'd be interested to hear. I've only had one doc recently, but haven't been able to come up with any new solutions lately.
@TristanT96: Will do Tristan ☮
