@monster007 From what I understand, 'sex' in this sense has a meaning something like 'county'. Therefore 'sussex' = the county to the South, 'Essex' to the East, 'Wessex' west...Middlesex' in the middle..

@supersnipe well..it's good to know...I think french had loads of input in UK they also were the first who opened Cambridge university...taking poor king into their arms....etc
