@winterwanderer: Wow, you have just taught me something new :) (I'm guessing you're American). Just read in the 1900's that black currants were banned from infecting other things. Anyway, it tastes like red berries, very sweet a bit like grapes.

But Europe has a variety of cultural nuances developed over thousands of years.
