I Wear Glasses All The Time

i don't need them anymore... maybe sunglasses.

i developed AMD and since glasses don't correct blotches in your vision, one less thing to worry about.


talk about accentuate the positive.


but, i can't fly a plane or drive a car any more that sucks major kahonies.

walking everywhere sucks.... taking the metro is a nightmare.
having to fend for myself without someone with me that has full vision is a real pain in the butt. businesses are NOT friendly to the blind.

plus people get all snotty when you tell them that you're blind and whine about how you're still independent like they want you to be in a prison and rely on what little help they want to offer.


oh oh, i'm ranting.

@sighmeupforthat - Honestly I didn't even realize how badly businesses treat the blind till recently. I was watching What Would You Do? and there was this experiment where a blind person was given five dollars worth of change instead of the twenty they were owed by the cashier. The amount of people that stepped in and called the cashier out was rather disappointing.

Lenses are a pain sometimes. I forget to take mine out at night. And they just drop out when it's humid. Plus if you ever get a speck of something in between the lens and your eye, you're in for all kinds of pain! But all that said, being able to see perfectly without anything on my face is wonderful. And I don't miss my glasses steaming up when I'm cooking or just out of the shower.

I'm like you and wore contacts for years. You are correct. Don't get 'em because you'll abuse them.
