I'm Right Handed

I was actually born left handed, but was "retrained" when I was in first grade. My first grade teacher was an old lady who was "old school" and still believed the myth that there was something wrong with people born left handed (this was back in the early 70's when I was in first grade). She retrained all of her left handed students to be right handed to "cure" them. I still remember well being forced to write with my right hand... the cramping and fatigue, and if she caught me (us) switching back, we'd get a painful slap on the left hand with a ruler and have the pencil forcibly placed back into our right hand....anyone remember those fat pencils?.... I got slapped many times over until I no longer used my left hand. Today I write right handed and cannot do so left handed, but I still have ability to do some things left handed and can often be seen switching back and forth between the two although I consider myself right handed now.
