I need advice on my chihuahua..

My little poppy is nearly 1 years old but I wanted to know if anyone’s chihuahua goes loo several times in the night?

I take her toilet about 12 before I go bed but she will wake up at 3am and then 8am but sometimes she will wake up between these times too and it’s so annoying it’s like owning a baby again lol 😂

Please tell me this is just a puppy thing and she will grow out of it 🙄

Puppy thing. My older girl doesn't have that problem.

Do you use potty pads for emergencies? I leave a pad out when I leave the house for a while or am unwell and can't take her out often in case she really has to go. She never needs them.

She had puppy pads when she was a baby but we taught her to go outside now but now it’s become a nightly thing lol 😂 @Doomflower

Hmm. My chihuahuas (10 & 11 years) sleep through the night, and it’s a rare occasion that they wake me. I don’t think I had this problem when they were younger, but they were both crated overnight for the first few months I had them.
Your vet would probably have some suggestions.

Small dogs seem to pee alot ..i had 3 Chihuahuas all passed on now and they were real wee pissers lol but I now own a Labrador and she would hold her pee all day 🐶

Adjust her feeding schedule. If you are feeding her late she will have to move her bowels in the middle of the night.

She normally has a poo around 8pm it’s normally wees she has or sometimes just a wonder around the house to see what’s happening 🙄🤷‍♀️@curiosi

I did think that she is tiny I think she was the runt of the litter tbh she hasn’t grown much even tho she eats like a horse lol 😂 @HoraceGreenley
