She seems like a lovely person! I’m sorry she has Alzheimer. 😕 I’m sure such condition hurts her loved ones more than herself.

@Moon3624 That’s heartbreaking 😕 Old age is really scary.

@SW-User she has been like this since I was 7-8🥺 mainly after my parents death
(My father is her son) and whenever I ask her “ how many kids do you have “ just ti keep reminding her of important info, she doesn’t mention my dad or my uncle who died...
It’s really tough but I love her and I can’t imagine losing her

@Moon3624 Jesus girl you’ve been through horrible losses! 😕 My sympathies.
It's a very sad disease, a couple of my uncles suffered with it

My grandmother had alzheimers, it wasn't easy to watch

It's a cruel disease. Sometimes, you might witness the "window of lucidity", where they completely return for a limited time, only to go back once again. My grandpa was a humorous man, and, in a Twilight Zone kind of way, once he had begun to display signs of dementia, people discounted his joking as signs of that. But he was there from time to time, and I reassured him that I understood his jokes. It made him smile.
