I Will Pursue My Dream Job

For some time I've been thinking of becoming a addictions counselor. Though after spending some time thinking I decided it might not be the wisest decision to make. In 10 to 20 years at most there's bound to be a medication that would completely eliminate someones withdrawal symptoms. If such a drug is made there won't be much need for addiction counselors. So I think I'll just be a therapist or just a normal counselor. Since I am very sure people would rather talk to people rather than robots in the future about their problems.

But don't you think that even if they created a drug to eliminate withdrawal symptoms, most people would still use. They can get high and take the new pill to avoid withdrawal. Just keep going with the highs...plus, doesn't solve the root of the problem that leads someone to addiction..just my thoughts

There's already some drugs that help with withdrawal symptoms.. personally I think it's not right, not having withdrawal symptoms isn't going to illuminate the reason of that individuals addiction and could cause more issues as they'll be unaware of things.
Go for the counselling but be aware it is a very costly process - worth it though.
