What are your thoughts on abortion?

Abortion has been a really touchy subject lately. Some people think an abortion should be available with no questions asked while others think they should be banned and illegal. And then some people think critically on the matter and come up with pros and cons as well as acceptable reasons and non-acceptable reasons.

What are your thoughts?

I have a complex view on it. I am personally pro-life with few exceptions, but I'm pro-choice for others. Most cases shouldn't be paid by tax payers and it should never be used as a birth control method.

Thank you for best answer 😊

First, I think proper sex education in schools, and making contraception significantly more accessible, would do a lot to minimize the number of people in a situation where they are considering an abortion quite a lot.

I am still pro-choice, however.

First. No male should have a say in this question. Opinions are fine. But never a deciding voice. We just dont have the context for it.
Second. My two cents worth. Abortion should not be a religious question in any way. A medical question and an ethical question for the parties directly involved. But God doesnt get a vote unless the individual decides on a case by case basis.
The rest I leave to those involved.

@Jackaloftheazuresand You know perfectly well what I am referring to. A termination is something that happens to a woman, with all the invasion, stress, anguish and grief she is going to live with. If the male involved wants the child, then sign up to adopt on a sole parenting basis and put your life where your mouth is. or allow the woman to do what she feels is the least worst choice.

@whowasthatmaskedman Uh no I didn't, it sounds like you're pushing the narrative that only women can make laws on it, as if no man has actually agreed with their reasoning. And if he can do that then he is obviously capable of deciding either way what should be done.

@Jackaloftheazuresand Its a medical Procedure. I dont see how "laws" need to be made at all. The patient and the doctor make a decision based on the best interests of the patient, however they with to define that.
should only be an issue between a woman and her dr..

i dont see why its tax payer funded tho?
.. the tax payer didnt knock you up and forget to wear a franger..

and if youre too irresponsible to practice safe sex, and are using the abortion clinic as contraception... your evil...

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I've thought about this and I'd think the fair thing to do would be to give people the ability of opt out of it personally if they feel they're paying towards what they consider child murder. Though i don't know if it's tax-payer funded.
@Ryannnnnn serious?
planned parenthood recieve tax funded money. then filter it back to the Dem party..
thats why the dems love PP..
also.. dead baby parts sell very well ..

The unborn child needs a voice and I don't mind being that voice. I think the 8-week rule and the no exemption for rape or incest is a good compromise.

In my opinion, abortion should be legalized.
Because not all women want to have kids. Some probably got raped and preganant while others not using protection.

But in religion contrast, abortion is a no no since we violate or taking God's life. Talking about sins and stuffs.
I find that nonsense. Raising a kid is not easy especially when it comes of financial and of course not to mention the parents itself. If they are not ready, then don't. Sins still happen whether you abort it or not. 🤷‍♀️

I think there's something fundamentally wrong about it, it's not "good" at the very least. I don't believe in enforcing upon others though and there's cases where it's very understandable. EG. rape/life endangerment.

We could argue about responsibility outside of that when birth control and protection is everywhere (though not always 100% effective).
Lots of factors which is why i don't fall in either camp.

Women have a right to privacy and to choose. End of story.

It's always unfortunate.
Fungirlmmm · 51-55, F
It isn't for me, but I can't tell someone else what to do. I would hope they would consider all alternatives before having an abortion. Taxpayers should never have to foot the bill for abortions.
calicuz · 51-55, M
Does anyone think the tough abortion laws came around as a compromise to legalizing marijuana?
GoldenWorm · 51-55, M
@calicuz SCOTUS level the deal is no abortions I. Return for gay rights and they are getting ready to reneg.

Its a individual women's choice.

I personally choose not to have kids at all.
I think that we the taxpayer should pay for one free abo - any more its on the woman

Nobody in my opinion wants abortion. Everyone I believe would prefer no unplanned/ unwanted pregnancies ever occurred. But of course they do happen. People are imperfect. Sometimes it is disgusting how the woman becomes pregnant from incest or rape. But many times it’s failed birth control, lack of safe sex etc. I don’t agree that people should just be irresponsible & repeatedly use termination of pregnancy as a birth control method. I also don’t believe that many women do that. Mistakes do happen though & I don’t feel a pregnancy should be forced on anyone. Just as an abortion shouldn’t be forced on anyone. It’s about having the choice to pick the path that’s right for the individual.
