If you ever broke a bone and were placed in a cast, did you slowly go crazy?

It has been about 4 weeks since I have been in a cast (broken foot), and I'm seeing myself slowly going crazy, and finding breathing to be a bit difficult. I want to walk on my 2 feet, clean my room, and go back to work. I just want to do something. :(

In the spring of 1972, on April Fool's Day, I got out of bed on a sunny Saturday morning, all ready to plant my spring garden, and stepped onto a paperback book I'd left on the floor next to the bed, tripped and suffered a spiral fracture of the left metatarsal bone in my left foot. It was just before the start of one of my college quarters and I had to go to all my classes, plus my part time job, on crutches in a cast up to my knee. I had no energy to do anything else. My armpits hurt from the crutches. I was very depressed for a while. (The book I tripped on was a collection of essays entitled On Pain).

@greenmountaingal Oh my god, wow, that's really ironic. I also feel sorry you had to go through all that. I can understand how tired you must have felt.

Broke my index finger when I was 17. I was so scared to tell my grandmother I didnt do anything about it. Healed all wrong. I was an idiot. So 1 finger is like a sausage then the rest.
