What are your thoughts on men being in charge of women’s healthcare?

CountScrofula · 41-45, M
People seem to think there's no issue here. There really is.

There's major, serious problems that result from decisions about womens' healthcare being almost entirely made by men.

Doctors assume women in pain are being dramatic. A study came out this month that talked about how menstrual pain can be as bad as a heart attack. Menstruation isn't exactly new. Why are we just learning this now? Because western doctors believed that period pain was largely make believe, or some sort of mystical necessity. Men who complain about pain get pain meds, women get sedatives.

The clitoris wasn't discovered until 1998 which is just shockingly recent. Nobody cared to look before then.

And of course, access to basic reproductive health services are profoundly restricted in many areas. There's so much legislation about womens' authority over their own bodies and nothing equivalent for men.

It wasn't? What had I been rubbing and sucking and licking since 1978?
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@HerKing In its entirety. The tip sticks out but there's a huge organ there that surrounds the vagina, which is why it's so powerful. Nobody knew that there was more to the clitoris than that tiny tip until super recently.

The men in power are so fucking obsessed with controlling women's bodies that they won't even let someone safely abort a -dead- fetus. My thoughts are profoundly angry.

@CountScrofula as they should be. Sorry but even a christian has to admit “dead fetus” is NOT living and therefore its well being is a non-issue

Women are better at caring. I care for my mothers health but I don’t find it easy
for2ak3nXIII · 36-40, M
@YouCanCallMeDan cupcake we were done a long time ago. I’ve just never been one to deny a masochist a thorough abusing. Skip along sweetie. Daddy’s sandwhich won’t make itself.
YouCanCallMeDan · 41-45, M
@Freudianslip13 we went over that and I asked for an example of equality in nature and you didn’t give one. Prove to me that equality is a real thing and I’ll jump onboard
for2ak3nXIII · 36-40, M
@YouCanCallMeDan so the species that is supposedly ABOVE all those critters we like to exterminate for our own gain and yet now they are the example for how we should behave? That is flawed logic. You need to seiously sit down before you hurt yourself while the grown ups handle grown up matters.

As long as women are in charge of men's its ok
OggggO · 36-40, M
@meJess I was gonna say, for every man that decides a woman can't have birth control a woman should get to decide if he gets prostate meds.
Flenflyys · 31-35, F
I’m not a fan
for2ak3nXIII · 36-40, M
*snickers and bursts out laughing* Oh yeah. Yeah the gender that honestly think with some duct tape and gorrila glue they just might be able to reattach that severed finger in the middle of the wilderness be in charge of even more shit they have not the first clue about nor care to understand. Yeah what could go wrong there? Oh right people are dying from needless Bronze Age ailments. So. Thats a thing.

A new friend told me, " If you don't have a vay-jay-jay, you don't get a say-say."

As long as they know the facts, sounds fine. Same with women controlling male healthcare.
kate21 · 26-30, F
i think that's a hyperbolic way of phrasing it
for2ak3nXIII · 36-40, M
@kate21 rest assured that in Americs at least rich, white men have the final say in everything. Thats why in Mississippi there is only one Planned Parenthood in the entire state.
kate21 · 26-30, F
@for2ak3nXIII i do live in america.
for2ak3nXIII · 36-40, M
@kate21 so do smartphones have brail keyboards now? Cause you’re either blind or not been paying attention.
abe182 · 46-50, M
Well men and women are equal so what's the problem here?
OggggO · 36-40, M
@abe182 If women are equal, they should get to make their own decisions, shouldn't they?
abe182 · 46-50, M
@OggggO I make my own decisions.
StokedFox · 36-40, F
Anybody could help me with my health care right now please

for2ak3nXIII · 36-40, M

Perfectly normal
popmol · 22-25, M

for2ak3nXIII · 36-40, M
Seriously by show of hands who wants this guy telling you to put your feet in the sturups?
@popmol you see a gynecologist?
popmol · 22-25, M
@for2ak3nXIII isn't it the equivalent of a prostate exam? i know theres a difference for the genitalia but ever other part of the body is the same.
SW-User
They must have what they used to call a prurient interest.
Elegy · 46-50
What is the solution?
OggggO · 36-40, M
@Elegy Equal representation on the committees that make these decisions would be a really good start.
Elegy · 46-50
@OggggO Agreed.
My best doctor was man.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
Okay so how do I charge over it a bit?? Is there like a form for males to do that?
