about apt managers

can an apt manager tell you you cant keep your stuff in boxes? i understand that he said that cause theres issues with bedbugs, but i havent seen bugs in that side of the room since they did the heat treatment. i havent seen bugs into my stuff at all, but ive had issues with them being on my bed which i no longer have a bed, then i slept on the couch for 6 months, the pest control guy came on friday, and i told the manager i was starting to see bugs again on my couch and then he said i had to get rid of it. i thought that was optional since thats what he said, i thought id give the pest control another chance to spray it and see it that would get rid of them first, needless to say i had to get rid of the couch, i think eggs mightve been hatching anyways cause the bugs werent big, then when he came with the pest control guy he mentioned something about getting rid of my boxes and buying bins for it. like i said i havent seen them in 6 months in that side of the room, plus im not in a position to lift boxes right now, and im not made of money either, so i cant just spend money on bins, i spent too much just getting a company to pick up my couch and also had to go to walmart to get a blow up mattress, did that on purpose cause if its blow up the bugs cant breed there, do you think he was just making a suggestion or do i really have to do it?

Bedbugs might be a local law.......they had a big issue in Dallas last week and they interviewed people in apartments that had to throw out a lot of personal belongings and the street was littered with their stuff.

They probably can........ask your neighbors.
Idk they can get into the boxes.. Thats why he said that.. They may or may not already be in your stuff regardless of if you noticed them there or not
I didn't think they could tell you how to manage your belongings INSIDE of the apartment. (?)
Maybe or maybe not.

I just came across this post. Are you still seeing them? They want you to get rid of the boxes because they can hide in them. Normally they won't go too far from where you sleep or sit.
