Homeless problem

The rough sleeping problem is so bad where I am. Every day I leave the house I get asked for money. I usually give people what I can but I've realised I just can't afford to anymore. Even if I just gave £1 to somebody every day that's £356 a year. There's no jobs atm and I'm a student, so I can't do it now. If I didn't have savings I'd have 0 after my food bill/rent and I'd really have to budget. It's gotten to the point where I've started to try and avoid people, which doesn't feel great.

It's a harsh realisation but this isn't a problem people on the street can fix by giving change every day. We need government funding and housing so they can get jobs or at the very least get benefits. Back when I volounteered with my cousin they had the same issue with social housing, there was just not enough of it.
