I Respect The Special Needs

I love how we’ve progressed since the time my Nan was born, she was born in 1929 but she couldn’t walk so she never went to school because her physical disability made her uneducable apparently. When WW2 broke out she wasn’t even evacuated to the countryside because of her disability: 21 years later her sister came along with Downs Syndrome, but because of the stigma it carried her mother used to dress her in thick coats and shawls to cover her over because people disabilities weren’t socially acceptable in those days. We’re so lucky that things have changed now and all kinds of people are getting accepted. In my time at school I met two people with special needs, one had all kind of things, I’m not sure what exactly he had but at the age of 10 he was being taught to write his name and to count to 20, the other had autism. I managed befriend both of them and I still see one of them from time to time. I don’t see the problem with special needs people being part of the society, they’re just trying to live their life like anybody else, so let them. They might need more help than other people but then people need help all of the time. Every person in my household wears glasses, so that’s a need that’s special to us. Its not socially unacceptable to wear glasses, use crutches or wear a hearing aid, so why should it be socially unacceptable to have autism, Down syndrome or any other condition alike?
I think special needs people are just like everyone else it's not there fault they have something wrong I have some needs to it sucks to be made fun of for it

Exactly, they didn’t ask for that life and most of them would swap it for a normal life in a heartbeat. They’re already having a bad time as it is, they certainly don’t need the rest of society jumping into make their life worse

Things have moved on fortunately. We all have some needs or special needs.

Exactly
You have some dodgy genes in your gene pool there.

My great-grandmother did have 14 kids, so I guess there’s bound to be an increased risk of things like that happening
Does she whistle when she walks?
