I Love Old Things

The Soldiers Guide-June 1952

It has the original owners information stamped inside too
lasergraph · 70-79, M
Whoever owned this probably has a lot of history to tell.
lasergraph · 70-79, M
@GlitterBug probably impossible if you don't know the area where he lived. If it had his dog tag info on the inside the army might be able to tell you something.
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
@lasergraph doesn’t look like it does, thanks for that information though

@GlitterBug I'd imagine your boyfriend tried, but it's amazing how many veterans come up when you search them with their branch of service. I've an uncle died in WWII and there is more & more info on him every time I look - tho much of it is the same basic stuff.
Does it have blood on it?
mountainman1234 · 70-79, M
@lovelywarpedlemon I do not think it would have blood on it as it would not be something a soldier would bring into battle ,,,it is a training manual for recruits most soldiers might keep it in their foot looker ,,,,
@mountainman1234 It's got feet on it, then. hahahahh
mountainman1234 · 70-79, M
Could be or smelly socks ,,,,,lol

How many pages?
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
@hlpflwthat that’s pretty cool, don’t think I’d ever sell this one though
hlpflwthat · M
@GlitterBug Same. It'll be sittin on your shelf when you're 50 - like all the shit here in my man cave lol. I think the guy listing his for $700 probably won't sell his either 😏
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
@hlpflwthat lol I saw that, yeah probably not
I have used very similar manuals in the SeaBees. They were very practical and easy to understand.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
I got about a dozen boxes of old army manuals a couple of months ago
GlitterBug · 22-25, F
That’s pretty cool, what did you end up doing with them? @MarineBob
MarineBob · 56-60, M
They're still in my office, going to give a few to the local VFW for their display case and probably sell a lot
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M

GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
