When it gets to the point where you have swallowed 4000mg of paracetamol in about 2 hours and it hasn't done a thing about the pain in the tooth your dentist wouldn't remove :(
Further update: just phoned up dental surgery and told them I have basically overdosed on painkillers and need this tooth to be removed and the best they can do is 2.45 on Monday. Not sure how I should feel about that response.
So after going to A&E upon the advice of an NHS nurse as the mixture of pain and pain killers has resulted in me being physically sick a few times, the delightful doctors at A&E gave me.... stronger pain meds and told me if I want to see an emergency dentist to resolve the issue the closest one is about 20 miles away.
@Hamyamyak: minor infection i think stopped them, but antibiotics would have at least been better than nothing. Last time I got an infection I OD'ed on painkillers and the dentist was like 'if you have an infection the painkillers won't do anything, you should have come in for antibiotics'.
@Hamyamyak: Healthcare seems crap in England too. I've been taking a shed load of painkillers for a week now (probably why they are no longer effective), and still have another week to go until my next appointment. At whch point they will probably be like 'well you have an infection so we can't do anything about it'. No shit, because you didn't give me anything to beat it.
