I Am Unemployed

The hunt for a job.

Its like wandering a maze and consistently coming across dead ends. I stand there staring at this tall wall and think, 'how dare you! I've been trying so hard to get out of here and you DARE to stand in my way!'

Then my anger dissipates and I collapse to the ground with no desire to move at all.

Whats the point? I'll just come to another dead end anyway...

But then as I'm sitting there, time ticking by, I realise that I miss the grass and the rolling hills, I miss the feeling of the wind on my face. I have to still try because the maze only confines my wings, wings that long to fly.

So I get up...

And come to yet another dead end.
I'm not in the same position as you but a few months ago I was forced to hand in my resignation at my work place. I was very upset about the fact I had to leave. I miss the staff and the residents deeply and regret what I did. I was trying to find a job for weeks and was very worried about my future. I've got another job now in another home but I don't like it, its harder and not the same. I'm looking to do something else, maybe being self employed and doing a bit of cleaning, or dog walking and pet sitting. But still this will take a long time and like you I feel i'm stuck in a maze. I still sit by my phone and wonder if I will get a call from the place I was kind of fired from asking me to do a shift but its not happened yet. The only thing really is that everyone there keeps telling me they miss me.

Keep your head up.
Like I said I forced to hand in my resignation.

Oh yes but why were you forced to hand in your resignation?
Well I'm not telling you that. It was something that had been building up for a while. And they gave a good reference. So I'm kind of still in their good books. 😊

Tell me about it. I've been unemployed for a year and a half.

Thats tough, it hasn't been quite that long for me but if things don't change soon it could be...

@peacekeeper15: Just gotta keep hitting the pavement. So to speak. Or lower expectations and get something worse than you originally hoped. :(

Try the job centre instead of a maze....

Look for a phone sex job on the internet, they call it a phone actress. I did that for years and then when I did get a job I did it on my free time.

Touching. I don't know what to say.
