I Have No Social Life
I never realized my lack of a social life until someone asked me if I have any friends.

I've had others look at me like a wounded puppy when I told them I had no friends. I also once overheard a roommate talking on the phone mention that I had no friends. He was trying to invite me to a hangout with some of his. That just makes you feel like a charity case. It was so deflating
It's pretty alienating to be treated that way. Maybe the intentions are noble, but it feels like any attempt at socializing with these people afterwards comes from a place of pity rather than something more substantial to solidify a friendship. Makes you want to be alone even more than you already are
