I Love the Library

Take a look for [b]Swallows & Amazons[/b] by [b]Arthur Ransome[/b] next time you're in the library. Set in the English Lake District and first published in 1930 it tells the tail of two rival gangs of school kids joining forces to combat the bad guys.

This short video shows the real life Wild Cat Island on which their adventures took place.

And they had their 'Famous Five' adventure stories by Enid Blyton!

Arthur Ransome was a thousand times better than Enid Blyton.

I agree. I still can't read S&A to this day without the feeling the same thrill I felt when I was a ten year old. :-) @SW-User

I recently reread S&A. Very dated of course but that didn’t detract from the strength of the story.
