@in10RjFox firstly, it's stupid to ask vegetarian restaurants to get halal certification since halal is for meat products only. Like you asked, what's halal got to do with vegetarians?

@JBird hahaha so you see right.. but there are non veg Hindus who also eat meat (chicken mutton n fish).. amd also have their way of cutting meat.. So a secular restaurant cannot make all meat as halal.. instead call yourself a muslim restaurant like other muslim restaurants.. many Hindus go there too .. and nodody objects to muslim restaurant serving halal ..

@in10RjFox well, restaurants serve both vegetarian, meat and vegan diet together. If someone doesn't need halal meat, they can order other kind. Why making ruckus and create a drama when there's a solution?

@JBird hope you know pure vegetarians never go McDonald's for to them even of one dish is non veg.. the restaurant is non veg. The ruckus is by non veg hindus who are forced to eat halal meat .. strictly speaking McDonald's must have said Halal meat available on request. Did they do that ?

@in10RjFox just like how halal meat was requested. As I remember, McDonald originally didn't serve halal meat until it began its chain in Arabian countries.

@JBird yeah.. and why did they not do that in America? They could change all meat to halal.. and tell the Americans its just meat.. why did they choose India to do that ?

@in10RjFox because India have more muslim population than America. And some of the American restaurants do serve halal food.

@in10RjFox they do eat Islamic meat, they have no problem with it. If you don't believe me, search Google. You'll find a lot of halal restaurants not only in America but in UK and European countries. If Christian majority countries have no problem with it, why does a Hindu majority country like India worry about it? As far as I know, India is a secular and democratic country, therefore a halal restaurant is not out of restrictions. If you ask me, this is only a tatic to discourage Muslims.

@JBird you are not getting the point.. we are talking about McDonald's only .. and why is halal available on request .. and why can't all meat be Halal.. ? And why India all meat is Halal ?

@in10RjFox because McDonalds have Muslim customers, so halal meat is served on request. Not all meat can't be halal because not everyone is Muslim. For the last question, you need to ask McDonalds region manager in India. If Hindus don't want halal meat, raise a request not a mob.

@JBird hahaha.. so one rule for America and another for India.. hope you see that vegetarians are not affected by the Halal.. Its only the christians and non-veg Indians .. So they should only make Halal available on request.

@in10RjFox yes, rules differ from country to country for any fast food chain. I don't see why Hindus have so hyped over halal meat.

@in10RjFox my Indian side of the family are Christians. I grew up as Christian too. As far as I know, they have absolutely no problem with halal meat.
