I Contemplate Human Limitations and Human Potential

The human mind, human patterns, human tendency can be studied and found to be repetitive.

A pattern that I have found to be common in us is the mocking and negative criticisms of those not present in the moment we are speaking. Being aware of this human tendency of ours can maybe help us adjust the way we speak of others once we become aware of our behavior of doing so.

Another pattern easy to spot is that when you get too clingy with a person, the other withdraws. And when a person keeps their distance from another, the other desires for them even more. In other words, it can also be stated as that when you are too soft you are walked over, and when you are not easily manipulated, you are “respected” more, at times. Why is this? Humans want to overcome a perceived challenge to prove to themselves and others that they are worthy through what or who they were able to obtain, maneuver, and keep.

Lastly, I feel it is evident to note how we act when two or more people are present versus how we act when only two or one is present. In the attempt to win over or impress a crowd we become performers. I personally love performing and I can definitely notice that in myself, especially when it comes to music, dancing, and singing. For others they do better in small talk about sports, business, money, and trivial things in the media. We dress to impress or at least attempt to look acceptable in the eyes of others since we don’t go out in the same clothes we wear inside our homes. While still others attempt to do risky things in front of others to not be perceived as weak or a coward, something that if they weren’t around anybody, they wouldn’t do.
