I Think Real Men Will Always Respect Women

There's one thing I hate is that the men who disrespect women. Today I was walking to the bustop when a guy on a bike passed me. While passing, he slowed down to give out a offensive comment. I called him back but he drove away. I live in a country where women are not respected well, so this is not an unusual thing. Men always stare at women, creepily as if they haven't seen a woman before. I bet that guy on the bike wouldn't so tough enough to comment on my body if he wasn't on the bike.

I know exactly what you mean. We're facing sexual harassment daily in this country. People think its their right to grope you in buses and pass lewd comments. Once I slapped a guy who behaved inappropriately in a bus. And guess what happened, the women advised me that I should have remained silent and that these things happen.
Unless this mindset changes,nothing can be done.

No we should not remain silent. What you have done is right. I would have done that too. It's the attitude of those women which encouraged the increasing rate of rapes in the country.

@OWTFWN: Exactly. I'll talk to a lawyer about it or I'll get a pepper spray as @Girlwithsilverheart suggested. Nowadays I wear high heels when I travel in buses. If someone gets too close, I just step on his foot. No complains and no bickering and judgement by women.

@OWTFWN: Its so stupid. Women are supposed to stand in front of strangers (potential groom and family) while they assess her looks, beauty, money etc. Like an animal to be sold off, except that the guy gets the money for marrying her. Its a disgusting arrangement

@rebelliousgal: it's the culture. Women are always victimized by it. People would tell she asked for it because of the dress she wore. Men go shirtless, still no one would tell anything about it. It's time they should stop the sexist culture.

@OWTFWN: Exactly. Women also contribute to this. There are so many women who says the ultimate goal of a woman's life is to serve a man. As long as this mentality exists, it'll remain a distant dream.
@Girlwithsilverheart: Its terrible that people have such thinking in this century. Hope that one day women in this country will be treated with the respect we deserve

@rebelliousgal: I'm not against Muslims or anything but Muslim women are one such example. I think Muslim women are getting themselves being oppressed. Like they won't let themselves speak for them, can't wear anything but burka, won't oppose or ask for a divorce when their husband marry another woman, won't get educated, and such. They tell themselves it's a sacrifice. But they don't know they defaming themselves.

@Girlwithsilverheart: So many cases where the guy turned out to be a psycho, or a drug addict. Still people don't learn a lesson. How can they marry their daughters off to absolute strangers?

@OWTFWN: they have taught themselves not to think for themselves. To be a good woman, they should obey their parents. They should obey even they are to be married to a rapist. Another thing is that girls are married at a young age even before they are matured before to know what's right and wrong. That's what happened to my mother. 😢
