I Know Everybody Hurts Sometimes

Honor Killing...

I saw on the news last night where a 14 year old girl in Iran was killed by her father for running away with her boyfriend. He was 29 years old. It was stated the father knew nothing of his daughter's boyfriend. The boyfriend asked for the girl's hand in marriage, but the father refused so she ran away from home. She was eventually brought back home to her father's house. While Romina Ashrafi lay sleeping, her father came in to her room and beheaded her! This is called an "honor killing" and the father will most likely NOT face any charges?! I was so shocked and saddened to hear of such news. I was also shocked to hear religion plays a role in some of these incidents.

I'm hearing since the coronavirus outbreak more and more women and children are being abused. They have to isolate in unsafe conditions and no one can see what's going on. It's very bad right now in Iran, Mexico and Africa. Killings of women and children are sky rocketing! In Iran now they are calling on the authorities and law makers to enforce laws killing woman and girls. I can't believe the father may get away with such a heinous crime!

There is such unrest in the world right now. There is a battle between good and evil like never before. People are fighting for the most basic of rights that we should all be granted since birth. I won't give up hope that the meek will stand tall with smiling faces some day instead of tears. I will continue to ask what ever it is in the universe that is good to please help us. We are all the same really, we are more alike than not and have the same basic needs. We all bleed the same color and share the same emotions of sadness and happiness. If we can't all agree on a subject, then let us agree to disagree and learn to do it peacefully. Let go of all the hate and put the weapons down. Let's show more kindness and love...that's what we all need! If no told you they loved you today, I will. Sending out love.

A woman in a neighboring community lived in the USA for years...ran a successful beauty salon. She divorced her husband (arranged marriage from her home country). Within a year she was found beheaded in her shop. She was in her 40's. It turned out her brother flew in from her native country and killed her to protect the "honor" of their family. He flew back before her body was discovered. The home country refused to extradite the brother.

The world can be a very ugly place.

@bowman81 That's horrible!😢💔 I knew a teenage girl from Pakistan when I lived in California. Her father tried to arrange a marriage to a much older man than her. She came to my house crying and scared. Later I heard she ran away with her American boyfriend. I told her we would help her too if she needed us. I hope she is somewhere safe and happy!🙂

Thst is just heartbreaking news. 😔

@Peaches The people were very good to me.

@Peaches It's not just in the middle east. Even in Britain so-called "honour killings" aren't unknown. At the same time as Operation Doublet was investigating offences of child sexual offences including rape and trafficking committed by British Pakistani men against white girls they were killing their own daughters for simply falling in love and wanting to marry outside their faith.

How on earth anyone can convince themselves their's honour in killing their own flesh and blood whilst simultaneously using and abusing children outside their own faith and culture is beyond me. Each act on it's own is heinous enough, but their close juxtaposition all within the one faith in a country as liberal as Britain is impossible to get my head around. God knows what's really going on elsewhere.

@ThePerfectUsername It's so wrong! 😠
😓😢😭😭😭😭

The collateral damage being done as a result of how we're dealing with the Coronavirus is far greater than the damage done by the virus, itself.

And, it doesn't surprise me, at all, that religion played a part in this terrible crime. It may have happened regardless of outside stresses.

There's a crisis in consciousness that's killing this world. If we're to turn that around, we had better do it soon.

I'm doing my part;
Love, understanding, kindness and compassion to all.
And extra prayers for Romina Ashrafi.
She met her unfortunate demise at the insanity of another.

@PhoenixPhail YES, the damage being done since lock down has proven to be just as deadly as the virus itself.😞 God bless this child, 🙏🏼👧🏻🌟I like to think she is in a much better place and that her suffering won't be in vain.💙
@Peaches I think she IS in a much better place. The evidences to support this are overwhelming. 💙

That poor girl. Unfortunately, the father is protected by Sharia law. Iran, like most middle eastern nations, are Islamic and their rules and customs are governed by laws that go back to the 7th century. 🤨😕

@Barefooter25 It's crazy! 🌍️💥Our world is so backwards. 😢
@Peaches Quite so.

If I Told You The Truth

If I told you the truth about God
You might think I was
an idiot.

If I lied to you about the
Beautiful
One

You might parade me
through the streets shouting,
"This guy is a
genius."

This world has its pants on backwards,
it carries its values and
knowledge in a jug
with a big hole
in it.

Thus, having a clear grasp upon the situation,
if I am asked anything these days,
I just laugh.

Horrible and sad!😢

How people can do such things I do not know.
Peaches · F
@Justenjoyit Especially to your own child.💔I'm scared of all those men over there, I'd never go!😯
Wow. What kind of a no good, heinous human being would kill their own flesh and blood...
Peaches · F
@latinbutterfly I can't understand it either!?😥💔
BabyLonia · F
Wrong on so many levels and this poor 14 year old child is the victim

The man supposed to protect her murdered her with no repercussions and the paedo who was more than twice her age has also escaped.

😔
Peaches · F
@BabyLonia It's one of the worst things to happen, 😞she was just a child.💙 I hope they charge the father, I can't believe that maybe they won't!
