Another true story

My dyslexia is very bad and I got only some of the necessary stuff from school at the age of 14. They send me to a place where I went every week for two years onwards. One hour with a speech therapist and another one hour with a proper therapist. Well, the first one made me listen to my voice every week and I hated it. I wasn't listening to any of my mistakes in language at all then. Waste of time. I still don't know why the woman actually didn't understand my rage then. I hate my voice. Sorry, can't do anything about that. I make terrible mistakes and muddle along. Perhaps that's why I became a librarian? Still another decision of mine that's on first sight so very puzzling. Yes indeed.

I'm sorry you hate your voice.

It sounds as though nothing has helped your dyslexia...? 馃ズ

@SomeMichGuy I tried my very best. Had a test in my 40s and the expert told me that I'm about the highest achiever that she met at my high level of dyslexia
SomeMichGuyM
@val70 Well, I'd say that's a testament to your progress & achievements!
val7051-55
@SomeMichGuy More of my tenacity. Looking back it's been a ride not only without seatbelts but also without any doors on the vehicle
SomeMichGuyM
@val70 So what is your "high level of dsylexia"?

Do you have a form where you reorder from further than neighbor letters? Or do you have more pairs which you typically reverse? I am ignorant of this problem, please tell me what it is like for you.
val7051-55
@SomeMichGuy Like yesterday on here someone told me that her sister was ten years older and my brain told me ten years younger
SomeMichGuyM
@val70 Ok, that's well beyond transposition! That substitution of whole words...
val7051-55
@SomeMichGuy It's really bad. Every sentence I need to read three times, in every mail there's a mistake, etc.
SomeMichGuyM
@val70 Ok, that's huge.

Hmmm...I assume that they've studied your eye movements as you read...

Have they had any ideas about this level of lexical / parsing problem?
