I Would Love to Be On Top of a Mountain Right Now

No title (new 11/24/16)

Within the barren landscape
Amongst the frozen rock and ice
I find a certain sense of peace
A spice of life
To be precise
If only by the slice

Staring at the star filled sky
From within my warm cocoon
I watch the wind and air
No thought impugned
The bluer moon
Sanity's saloon

To wake upon the break of day
The sun reflecting in my eye
Blinded by the sounded silence
Cares gone bye
Like birds that fly
Never-ending sighs

Looks cold. Brrrr

Do you prefer hiking in the cold?

I do. Winter in the mountains is the very essence of my feeling most alive. The extremes and the solitude are unmatched. A time and place where any step could be your last and every bitter wind seeks to chase you from the heights. It's a trial and judgement by mother nature. It's a perseverance of the mind and heart over the comforts of society. It's an affirmation of my soul.

@HikingMan Always nice to find the things that speak to your soul. I’m happy you found this and that you get to experience it. 🤗

It's a refreshing repast for me. I enjoy it.

Nature speaks to me as well, but I prefer warmer versions of it. @HikingMan

I'm no stranger to the beach. Though I do prefer clear cool mointain lakes and rivers. The types of places where you could camp for days and never see another human.

Just the birds, the beasts, and the tricks inside your mind.

I enjoy both the mountains and the oceans. They both have their calming effect on my soul.

I prefer quiet places over crowded too, but I’m not about to go camping in the wilderness by myself. @HikingMan

You can camp with me....
I'm cool like that.

X As long as I don’t freeze my ass I’d love to. @HikingMan

The sleeping bags I use are quite warm. I do hike in the warmer months as well. I just go to places that most people don't go to. I know places so beautiful and lonely that the silence races right through your soul.

Places like this...

@HikingMan It would be incredible to camp out there! How far is the hike in?
HikingMan · 51-55, M
Maybe 3 miles. 1 of flat travel and then 2 miles of upward hiking. Nothing technical. Just fairly arduous by flatlander standards.

There's a better place that's even more secluded. But with no waterfall. Just a nice little unkown pond of crystal clear mountain water.

They both sound like awesome places. 🤗@HikingMan
