Where I live that is a popular dream, and you would meet a lot of people who want what you want. All I can tell you is if you’re serious about that to take advantage of as many farming/craft volunteer opportunities as possible. Connecting with your local farmers is a good start. WOOFing is another option. Actually living off the grid is a lot of hard work. I’ve met a lot of people who thought so adamantly that is what they wanted until they realized just how much it entailed. Now these people are in their 30/40s realizing they don’t have the skill set or endurance to live off the grid, and they haven’t built anything to function in mainstream society either, so they’re just kind of stagnating/lost . I’m not saying you’re one of those people. I’m just suggesting that you start exploring what it will really be like now, so you’re prepared/ can be sure that is what you want .

@SW-User This is excellent advice. I'm old enough to remember the "back to the land" movement of the early 70's... not many who tried it were still on the land by 1980. It's hard work and it's not always beautiful out there.

Those were my dreams when I was your age... I didn't quite follow that path but it's a good one and I wish you all the best
