I Need to Say This

We are all experts at parenting until we have our own children.

Bottom line: unless you have kids of your own (of a reasonable age) don't judge. One day, (believe it or not - unless you are a pure dictator) that kid in the supermarket having a tanty, will be yours one day. And you will be the exasperated parent.

Tread lightly in shoes that aren't yours.

I remember the first time my son threw a fit and did that hilarious move that kids do when a parent/ guardian tells them it's time to go but they don't want to go. They fall down, start kicking, and crying "No!" Then when they get stood up they make their bodies go completely limp and fall to the floor like they are passed out. Funniest shit ever!!! We were at Disney and our son was 2. It was time leave that part of the park and go eat. My husband told our son, "Come on, buddy. Time to go eat. We are leaving."

Our son went ballistic. Kicking his little legs, screaming no, and falling out. My husband stood him up and the little stinker made his body go limp like dead weight. Hehe! My husband looked astonished. He stood him up three more times same result. Finally, my husband scooped him up and told me to stop laughing and come on!

Now, the funny thing is my husband and I waited many years to have a baby. We read parenting books, took a few classes, planned the pregnancy down to the last detail. We swore up and down all the "mistakes" we saw other parents make we wouldn't. Ha ha ha! We got a rude awakening! We SWORE our kid would be trained not to act up in public. Bbbbbwwwwha ha ha!

Let's just say Disney was NOT the last time our son showed out in public!!! :-)

lol judgey bitchizz

THE KARMA FAERIE...
One day a lot of these judgey people will most likely have a kid, chucking a wobbly...instead of judging..
We'll give them a sympathetic look & also observe the next gen of judgey unknowing someday parents.

Something's you just can't see til you experience it.

Mind you I speak up if I see or hear people abusing or belittling little ones. Or their animals.

I hate seeing mothers swearing at & abusing their children :(
Happens occasionally. I usually blurt out some sarcastic remark...

A vast majority of mom's I have seen are heroes, even in that situation. But there are some who are total friggin nut jobs who fly off the handle and scream like banshees at their kids all the time, then wonder why their kids are outta control later. Hats off to the heroes. The other moms, leave your pride at the door and get help before you totally ruin more members of society

Wait! That kid in the supermarket is MINE?!?!
I want a paternity test!

Seriously: my kids are in their teens and older... but I still "remember those days". I don't see the screaming kid: I see the bedraggled mom or dad attempting to lovingly manage their kid in public... and I feel for them!

I suspect a lot of parents would agree with you. And even some that don't must have forgotten. It's funny how for some parents the other kids behaviour is much worse than their childs. 馃槉

Totally!

It's usually the people with no kids that no it all and will tell u what u are doing wrong. I seriously told a couple to go home and take care of their cats and get a grip one time.

I watched my parents raise me, then I helped raise all of my kids and I think I did a better job. Perhaps I had better material to work with.. :))
