I Love the Outdoors

My dad I stopped at Snowdonia National Park yesterday on the way back from school. There are some wild ponies there which are used to graze the heathland and keep vegetation under control. They are quite friendly, but they are still wild.

I saw some American tourists feed one of them an ice cream cone, which is forbidden because it makes them too familiar with humans and liable to wander into the road where they will be run over 😟 Of course, one ice cream cone is not much for a hungry pony, so when she had finished her treat she investigated the tourists' car for more food 🙄 At which stage they got angry and started shouting 😟

How nice that you went to Snowdonia with your dad! You know, my own dad and I got to see Snowdonia for ourselves when we were in North Wales! We even parked our car at one of the lower altitudes close to one of the country roads, and took a selfie (not that we are obsessed with that sort of thing, or do it often, though just every once in a while!) with a mountain behind us in the distance! While I was there, I thought of you, and wondered if you had ever been to this beautiful work of nature, and I concluded that you probably have been. To know that you have for sure, though, truly warms my heart! I don't remember seeing wild ponies when I was there, though; however, I can imagine that they are very cute! 🤗

That is too bad that those American tourists who you saw were clueless enough to give the ponies an ice cream cone! What a waste of money, and, like you said, it will only prompt the pony to investigate more, including their car! I think that they should have expected the ponies to inspect their belongings, as they were basically giving the animals the "okay" to do so if they gave them the ice cream in the first place! I am sorry about the negative impression by those kinds of Americans; they don't make up the whole of our population, on a positive note, and there are still some of us who are practical enough not to break park regulations! I remember being instructed by my dad since a young age that it is not a good idea to feed wild animals most of the time, and that countries outside the U.S. have their own laws and rules, and it is not a safe, protected Disneyland. When I was in Wales, I still carried a pepper spray in my purse just as I do in the U.S.; Please don't get me wrong, though, Wales is my definition of heaven on earth, regardless!

I apologize rambling on about me, but I truly hope that you had a wonderful time in Snowdonia with your dad, and please have an amazing time off during your summer! Lots of love from your big sister. 💖💖💖
