I Come From A Dysfunctional Family But It Does Not Make Me Bad
My Life in a nutshell!!
Now usually I would be cynical about lifes events if it had not occurred to me today.
I mean how many times do you want to give people work and they will not take it?
I had laundry done. I usually telephone a cab and they pick me and the goods up and drop it off at the local laundrettes. Today walked up to Laundrettes as it was a nice day. Knew I had an enormous load to bring back.
Rang for a Cab. (No-one available).
Why? Saturday morning (must be a busy weekend the sun is out.
So when home (without laundry), to ring for a cab at home. 8 companies in this town. NOT ONE WOULD DO THE JOB. One lady even got mad at me because she was recommended by another cab company. I telephone she said no. I rang up twice more on different numbers, did not realise it was the same company and she again reiterated no. So I said “No,” as in none really available even if I request it for tomorrow morning, or No you don’t want the job?” She explained only one cab on duty that weekend and they are all booked up with wheelchair duties. So could not pick up my load.
I nodded acceptance and put the phone down. I then rang the Laundrettes and said I cannot pick it up until Monday as no one is available in this town today. I also informed her that we had someone else’s washing which we pick up the week before. We would be returning it the following week.
An hour later she rings up and asks me to physically carry the bag that does not belong to me up to the laundrette as she is worried someone will come in for it can cannot collect it.
I again reiterated NO CABS WILL DO THE JOB THAT’S WHY I’M STUCK UNTIL MONDAY.
So as I said it’s the type of day in which you either think its too much of a concidence that ALL CAB COMPANIES IN TOWN WON’T PICK UP today. Or it really is a fait de a complex that today of all days my luck has ran out.
