I Hate Getting Jealous

It hurts me a lot sometimes and I wish I was a better person. It's hard for me to forgive people. I usually don't forgive as a general policy because I'm afraid of being hurt. Does this make me a bad person?

I understand that, for me it's this terrible guy who was dating a girl I liked until they broke up. A friend lectured me when I was venting that I need to ease up on the guy. It just got under my skin.
