14/2/2017 Valentine's day
I was looking up Valentine's day customs and came across this prophecy. I think it is based on a poem by Geoffrey Chaucer. There are two sources online that say the following although I can't remember off the top of my head which sites they are. One says it is the first bird you see on Valentine's day and the other says it's the birds that fly overhead though.

If the first bird you see on Valentine鈥檚 morning is *blue*, it is said that your love will be lasting.
If you see a *crow or blackbird* you will marry a clergyman or woman (priest!),
A Robin or thrush :a sailor
A wren: you will have many children but may be poor
A yellow bird - someone rich
a solitary magpie - a quarrelling partner
A.flock of doves of pigeons - bliss in every way
Sparrow: a poor man that will make you happy.

Which are you?

My mum said she saw a coal tit so she was wondering if she was going to have a relationship with (/marry) a coal miner!

Hmm it said a robin or thrush for a sailor for some reason!
