I Like To Tell Girls They Are Beautiful

Sometimes we aren't told this often enough. Society judges us all - women especially. I like to tell people in the street that I like their jacket or hair or general appearance, just to remind them. :)

Personally I don't think its a society thing so much as a nature thing. Girls like to attract attention usually with their looks or dress and guys like to look at girls.

Not every girl likes the attention. Not every girl dresses for something like that. I might, and that's because I enjoy it and it's the life style I live, but a lot of my friends don't. Society has constantly put us down.

Who taught the teachers?
ThatGirlSara · 22-25, F
I have no idea what that metaphor is even supposed to mean.

You are mindlessly spouting Hegelian drivel blaming 'society'. Hegel was full of nonsense. Not everything is a result of something else acting upon it. Sometimes a rock is just a rock a sun is just a sun a woman wanting attention is a woman seeking attention. She would have those same urges and desires whatever 'society' she lives in.

So you're saying that for the entire history of humanity girls have NOT been second-class citizens, that only a hundred years ago were we allowed the chance to vote, that there's NOT a wage-gap?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
What I am saying is that the female of the human species seeks attention of the male by looking 'pretty'. Just like the male birds look 'pretty'. In each case it is how they attract mates. As for the rest of your spew BWahahahahahahahahahaha.

The actual FUCK. I don't dress for guys. I dress for myself. I'm fucking gay for fuck's sake - why would I want to be in a relationship with a guy? A guy is good for a quick shag - nothing more.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
Well little girl if it were as you describe it, you would be a part of the problem and not part of the solution. You compliment random women on their looks which serves to reinforce the stereotype for which you blame society. On the other hand you do fit neatly into my description of the nature of a woman. Being a woman yourself you feel the need to compliment others for their looks.

@hippyjoe1955: Hey Joe... Are you really saying that more women "dress to impress" than guys?? That's so freakin' absurd. I'm on a college campus and most girls are barely out of PJs when hitting their first class (not me, I'm a morning person) but most guys are all primped and on the hunt. This is a game played by both sides, but in my experience far more so by guys.

And this is absolutely a society thing. If you actually take your head out of the sand for a moment and look at different cultures around the world and throughout history, you'll see that this issue swings from guy to girl and back quite commonly. There is no "nature" determinant that says that women will dress to impress guys. Sheesh.

Like "ThatGirlSara" I'm not really in the game because I'm not looking for a guy and have no interest in dressing to impress guys.

So then why the 'need' by this poster to compliment a random girl on her appearance?
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@hippyjoe1955: To help some random girl shore up her ego that has likely been shattered by overly critical guys. I love that she does this.
ThatGirlSara · 22-25, F
A girl's view on herself is destroyed by society. From sexist headlines, to the media reinforcing a social standard of beauty, to people telling us to stop eating and develop eating disorders to be beautiful, to being sexually harassed and looked down on. Society is sick and that's the truth of the matter. Society is the problem. I say good and kind things to girls to try and help them

@ThatGirlSara: You are truly a beautiful soul, Sara. 🤗
ThatGirlSara · 22-25, F
@sarabee1995: thank you, baby ❤️

@hippyjoe1955: the natural way of things? This is male chauvinist bs. Society is messed up and and the individual who doesn't want to be part of the whole predictable mating game is repeatedly oppressed. ThatGirlSara's gesture is beautiful and friendly.
