I Have a Special Needs Child

Lucas is lying in bed with me and we're watching Barney. I love our cuddle sessions, they're so special especially when it's stormy out and he's scared of what he calls ghost wind lol. Cubbie and baby blankie are all snuggled with Lucas as well. I'm going to have to figure out how to get them in the wash while he sleeps.

For dinner... ice cream. Yeah it's the only thing he can hold down cause it melts and it's actually been benefitting him while he fights pneumonia so that's all he's been eating, though he doesn't mind it. It's helped keep his temperature down a bit, it's easier for him to digest and cools his stomach reflux's so he hasn't been vomiting as much, also he doesn't know this but I've been putting his medicine in it because he doesn't like it and he hasn't even noticed yet. Also I've been stocking up on grape and orange juice to keep him hydrated, I just put it in a medicine tube that kind of looks like a syringe but is used to give liquid medicine to infants and I just release it into his g tube and it goes right to his tummy. I've been doing that with his medicine as well.

I'm hoping he'll be well by Christmas he actually told me last night that he doesn't mind not getting better because he doesn't get so much ice cream when he's well. lol he's a little sneaky. As soon as his coughing dies down I'm going to start giving him ice pops which he loves as well just I'm waiting for the infection to die down before I give him anything other than ice cream and juice.
