I Have a Special Needs Child

On thanksgiving i always ask Lucas if he understands why we celebrate it, like I mentioned in another post he doesn't remember a lot but after a certain amount of times of doing something he'll start to remember or if it's something he likes he'll remember. Basically he doesn't remember why we celebrate or me talking to him about it but he remembers the turkey cause he loves turkey. So here's our conversation:

Me: Lucas it's thanksgiving
Lucas: yay turkey.
Me: Do you understand why we celebrate thanksgiving.
Lucas: yeah turkey.
Me: also it's to celebrate how thankful we are for everything we have. What are you thankful for
Lucas: Turkey!
(Once he has his mind on something that's all he talks about so I wasn't hurt by this or anything. It's kind of cute)
Me: Anything else?
Lucas: Daddy!
Me: aww really?
Lucas: yeah and santa and presents.

It's so funny how his little mind works. He can't remember why w celebrate thanksgiving but he knows after thanksgiving Christmas time starts. Just another fun little memory
