I Have Chickens

Hi. I just started a free-range small flock (14 birds) this past spring hoping they will help with tick control. I know Guineas are better for this but they are loud and hard to control. Anyone have any experience with chickens as tick-eaters?

They'll eat just about anything that crawls in my experience.

@ProdigalSummer Thats what I understood too. And I got breeds that tend to be pretty active and like bugs. I got them in June and they have been roaming since July. It seems there are fewer ticks than normal but they tend to be fewer in August anyway and varies from year to year, so Im not sure if the chickens have anything to do with it.
