I Hate Mother's Day

I know it has already passed, but this years and every other years occurrence came to mind. I don’t hold a healthy relationship with my mom, I’ve tried over the years, but she isn’t willing to having me as a part of her life, she left me with my father when I was young, and never came back. I’ve learned to forgive her. So like always, I always try to call her to at least say happy Mother’s Day, I haven’t seen her in years. She usually never answers the phone other than on mother’s day, and we only talk for a few minutes before hanging up. And today that just hit me, and now I find myself, crying over it. And feeling resentment, for how much I truly hate Mother’s Day..

It's okay to feel that way towards your biological mother.... But if you have a strong female in your life who had guided you and been there for you, she is your mother. Mother's Day is an appreciation day for those who take care of children. One of my male coworker, we gave him a Mother's Day gift because he's a single father and his girls had no mother in their life.

I think, you haven't fully forgiven your mother. And it's okay, it'll take time.

I hope, when it's your turn to become a mother, you will be everything that she wasn't.
