Well I'd still do that no matter what result I get... It makes me feel better no matter what

There must be more to it then. I have this pattern where I care about someone, stick by their side while they are a mess, and hard to be around, my heart breaks for their every pain, I bare their burdens, and they get better and to hell with me.

Well, I am not saying that it happens or does not happen very often.. what I mean is sometimes you make others (those whom you care about) get better and it turns back on you.. and sometimes it does not, they just feel better and so do you.... But, if you really care about those people, doesn't it make you feel good somehow when you make their life easier??
