I Quit My Job

I LOVVVVE a good "I quit" story.

Hating your job is the worst. At 38, I have three great memories of leaving awful jobs. One friendly I hate my job discussion that resulted in a nice severance package, one angry I've had it I quit and one being fired and being so happy I thanked my boss for releasing me of my misery. They were all wonderful.

The best "I quit" story isn't my own, it's a friend of mine's. Let's call him Brian. He worked at a place that made turned random stuff into sculptures, or awards. They were always getting shipped random parts to mount on trophies or turn into awards. Car parts, musical instruments, sex toys, antique phones, whatever...you get the idea.

He had gotten into an argument with his boss over an incorrect paycheck several times and it had never been resolved. So he decided to quit.

He ordered a microphone from Amazon, and shipped it to the shop without telling anyone. It got opened up by the shipping department, and brought to him and his production team. Nobody knew what it was for and all of them were searching all over for paperwork that would explain which project this microphone was for. Finally, Brian goes "Hey, can I see that for a second?" and when it got handed over he shouted "I QUIT!" and LITERALLY dropped the mic and walked out.
