I Have An Undiagnosed Illness

Could Thyroid Problems Or Iodine Deficiency Be A Source Of Your Problems?... I want to share a URL for a video by Dr. David Brownstein that discusses the symptoms of thyroid infirmities, the problems of missed diagnosis associated with standard thyroid testing, and treatments for thyroid infirmity.

Another URL has an elaborate discussion of iodine deficiency and iodine supplementation.

Both are commercial URLs with which I have no association whatsoever.

I am convinced I have an under active thyroid and have a blood test every five years which always comes back normal. My Mum had it undiagnosed for years and it caused mental illness and she had a benign breast lump. My Grandad on my Dads side also had surgery for a goitre so I have thyroid issues on both sides. I may be being paranoid because of what I've lived through with my Mum but I have a lot of symptoms too. I have extremely dry skin which I have to cream twice every day, the skin on my heels is the worst, it splits and bleeds if I don't keep on top of it. I also feel the cold really easily and can't get warm if I get cold. I also have mental PMS and a terrible memory and slow thought process if I'm in conversation with people. I did take iodine but didn't notice any difference in any of this though.
You need to watch the video. There is some discussion of the matter of how doctors use one thyroid test to rule out thyroid problems inaccurately, and also discussion of how soy hinders thyroid hormone conversion. I am planning now to reduce soy intake.

I urge you to find a better doctor. There is absolutely no doubt from what you describe that you have a condition that needs correction. Does the British govt. only allow thyroid testing once every five years?

How much iodine and what form did you take? I urge you to read the article.
