I Have a New Outlook On Life

I remember a very long time ago someone asked me what I wanted to do with my life and I said, “I want to make people feel important.” The question is how. I tried different venues, but I honestly hate telling people what to do since I feel bad because that’s all people do to us since we’re born in the attempt to make us pleasing, productive, and harmless. I want to make people laugh and be told what to do, so I don’t have to do that to others as much. Well I want to grow into being a legit cleaning person to conquer my laziness, my reaction to dirty things, my pride, and to put myself in the shoes of important people who at times aren’t made to feel very important in our world today.

What would happen if the tables were turned? If those who were celebrated were construction workers and cleaning people? Imagine the magazines filled with the construction workers who build houses, being interviewed, and asked for autographs. I take pictures of construction workers and they probably think I’m crazy, but I really do see the incredible artistry in every single human that has put nail and hammer together to build the works of art we find shelter in. Imagine cleaning people put as the protagonists in movies, well Mr. Miyagi from Karate Kid is one of them, would everyone compete to see who can clean the best, the fastest, or who even cleans at all in order to be celebrated? Those who are celebrated in the media today, are those the masses want to imitate.

I pride myself in challenging what is considered the “norm” to bring a new perspective. Here is mine. Every human being is important. We are all equal in the sense that we didn’t ask to exist, we didn’t choose our body, instincts, the world, or the options the world contains. From the options we are forced to adapt to, we find what we prefer based on what is available or what we are able to go for given our desire and drive towards our desire. But every desire is different. Which desire is to be elevated on a pedestal and which isn’t? Is it based on money? How pleasing to the eye you are to others based on looks, ability, or possession? Or is it truly based on how we treat other people?

A way I test my own ego is how I treat someone not currently on a pedestal. How do I treat someone that I can get absolutely no benefit from? How do I react when I have to pick something nasty, or at a complaint? How do I react when people look at me as if I’m painted on a wall, can I still genuinely smile? Or do I let my ego and feelings get hurt because I want validation?

The best way to truly make others feel important is to infiltrate the system where people need to be given greater credit than what they are. And that is my plan. Not only through my writing, but through my actions. Can I change the way the world looks at a janitor or a construction worker, to where they are respected as artists in their own right? Can I inspire people to want to build and clean themselves? Imagine a world where everybody just wanted to build and clean... there would be less homeless and fewer trash in our streets and oceans.

A perspective change... my passion. Take a way someone taught you an idea, analyze it from all angels, now give us your brand new outlook no one has ever given before. Then go out and leave the impact that would make you want to continue living in this place. Treat others the way that would make you want to continue to live. How? Through decreasing negative labels, raw honesty, and a heightened level of empathy... because after-all... we are all just trying to adjust and live in a world we were all surprised and confused at having to adapt to from birth, without our choice in the first place.
